Trey Canard injured in LA! After missing the first round of the 2012 Supercross season,

Trey came back out in Phoenix for the second round, with a solid top ten finish.At the 3rd round in LA, Trey showed great speed in his heat race, and was looking good for the main.

However, in the main event, on the first lap, he was landed on and taken out of the race. Please keep Trey in your prayers for a speedy recovery, and check back for updates on his diagnosis and progress. We will keep you updated as soon as things develop.

Congratulations to DC’s Trey Canard who took home the prestigious AMA Supercross “Rookie of the Year” award last weekend in Las Vegas, NV at the season-ending awards ceremony. It’s not surprising that Trey took home the 2011 award, as the incredibly talented rider had an impressive rookie 450 season with three first-place wins and five podium finishes.

“I’m honored to have been chosen as rookie of the year,” said Trey. “It’s a goal I’ve always had, and I’m excited to have accomplished it. Overall it was a great season for me, filled with a lot of success for my first year in the 450 class. I’m really thankful for the support of my family and sponsors and I can’t wait to do it all again next season.”

A dedicated and determined competitor, Trey’s speed was evident on the track, earning him 13 finishes in the top six. After making a run for the title, an unfortunate crash in practice and a cracked femur kept Trey from finishing out the season; otherwise he would have had a legitimate shot at the title.

“Trey truly embodies the DC “Refuse To Lose” mentality,” said Nate Morley, DC’s SVP of Marketing and Creative. “He had an incredible rookie season and proved he was a force to be reckoned with. Trey certainly deserves this award, and we couldn’t be more happy for him.”
